How Long Should You Wear Invisalign Aligners?

Invisalign aligners are a great way to straighten your teeth without the hassle of traditional metal braces. However, to get the best results from Invisalign, you must wear your aligners for at least 20-22 hours a day. This means that you should limit the time that the aligners do not stay in your mouth to no more than 2 hours a day. Invisalign aligners must be worn for at least 22 hours a day to be effective.

The teeth need constant force to move from their current position, but it's not possible to have the aligners on all the time. Instead, you are given 22 hours as a guideline so you have time to eat or play without affecting your treatment plan. Using Invisalign is a full-time commitment. If you want to get the best results from Invisalign, you should wear your aligners for at least 20-22 hours a day.

An orthodontist will prescribe it for you and tell you how long you should use your Invisalign. When you wear your Invisalign aligners the way you're supposed to, you'll achieve a straighter smile. There were times when I had mine in about 23.5 hours (eating quickly and re-gluing the trays to avoid pain), and other days (rare) when I had them outside a few hours before and after eating (like the time I accidentally threw my tray in the trash and had to wait until I got home to put the next one in, since it was close to the next switch anyway). This means that the patient is responsible for using the aligners for a minimum of 22 hours a day.

One thing people should remember is that, during treatment with Invisalign, the most important thing is that the aligners are worn for the right amount of time. However, you'll quickly switch to using the retainer only at night, once your teeth have had a chance to stabilize in their new positions. I used to relax quite a bit when I put them back on, sometimes I would have them out for 4 or more hours a day and my orthodontist said it was perfect. However, if you use the trays only 8 to 10 hours a day, your teeth have 14 to 16 hours a day to return to their original positions, and this will happen to a much greater extent. Purchasing Invisalign can be simple, but there's important information to know when using Invisalign.

I've used normal metal braces before, and I think it's more practical (being able to floss is usually wonderful), but it places a lot more responsibility on you, the one who wears it, to get the results you want. In general, Invisalign braces and metal braces generally require the same amount of time for the same orthodontic problems, and metal braces sometimes treat cases a little faster. Once the tray has been used for the correct time, it is important to change it to the next appropriate tray in the sequence to ensure the correct trajectory. Large spaces of up to 6 mm could extend treatment time to 24 months, while smaller spaces require much less.
